Diploma in Dance Instruction

Entry conditions

Minimum age: 17 years before the end of the academic year in which you register for the DDI

 Unit 2: Promotion of Health and safety in Dance

Consists of 10 topics as follows:

  1. Introduction to Health and Safety
  2. Nutrition
  3. Hydration
  4. Health Promotion
  5. Age Related Health Issues
  6. Joints
  7. Muscles
  8. First Aid
  9. Safety Issues – Legal Responsibilities
  10. Safety Issues – Environment

All students will need a copy of the Course book available from ISTD headquarters (Sales Dept)

The learning activities are optional, but I would recommend that you work through them all as they are useful to build up knowledge before the examination.

The Tasks at the end of each topic are compulsory and must be completed to the satisfaction of the tutor. These need to be completed on a word processor using

One side of A4, font size 12 and single spaced.

On completion of all tasks the candidate can sit the examination, (minimum age 17 years).  The examinations are held three times a year.  Dates are available from Dance and the ISTD website.

The examination will consist of 40 multiple choice questions, and will last one hour.

The pass mark is 60%

The course materials that you receive are for the purposes of your individual studies only and you may not modify, copy, reproduce, re-publish, upload, post, transmit or otherwise distribute any of the Course materials.  Any use of the materials not expressly permitted in these Terms is strictly prohibited and will constitute an infringement of either my copyright or other intellectual property rights.

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us in relation to the provision by me to you of the Services.
